HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
You advertise the sale of the reports, just as I'm doing right now (which is how you got here, via my ad). Then you send out to your respondents the same information you're reading at this moment. It's that easy!
If you wish, you can copy the wording in this sales message verbatim (all you need to do is personalize it). Edit it any way you want to suit your needs. Or compose your own promotional letter.
The method you use for obtaining payment is up to you. While not absolutely imperative, being able to accept orders by credit card is definitely helpful. Merchant accounts through banks can be very expensive. But there are many online companies that charge a whole lot less. Virtual-Banking (which I use) and ClickBank are two excellent ones that come to mind. PayPal is another good source for online ordering.
How do you advertise?
For starters, there are literally thousands of free classified ad sites on the Net, plus thousands of Free-for-All (FFA) link sites and free opt-in mailing lists. These can be effective, if you post to a lot of them.
And what about paid advertising? Ask just about any e-marketing guru what the advertising route to take is nowadays, and the unanimous response you'll get is -- e-zine and newsletter advertising. The e-zines (online magazines) and newsletters offer extremely effective advertising at a relatively low cost. You'll find a lot of them provide free advertising in exchange for your subscription. But heck -- that's free, too!
As you go along, you'll want to consider investing in some paid ads. If your ads pull traffic, you'll get a lot more back than you put in. And don't forget off-line advertising, both free and paid. Get the word out any way and everywhere you can, on bulletin boards at your place of work, church, and grocery store.
The next step: responding to people who have answered your ad.
This is really easy. And the good news is, you don't have to have a web site. You use an autoresponder service. In the "body" of your advertisement (nowhere else) you put your e-mail contact -- that is, your autoresponder address. Within less than a few minutes after a customer hits the "send" button, your autoresponder sends him or her your information message -- automatically.
Your message includes everything your customer needs to know about the program and how to acquire it. What's especially neat about the autoresponder is that you can give prospective customers 24/7/365 access to your message without your having to put up a web site. Also -- and this is really great -- you can write up to nine follow-up messages, each delivered at a specific interval you choose. It's all done automatically!
Your online autoresponder business is e-mail-based, which is much less expensive and time-consuming than designing, maintaining and promoting a web site. There is, however, one downside: E-mail doesn't have the strong visual dynamics of a web site. You can, though, use html to liven up your presentation.
